L'Enclume Forged Butter Knife
Our bespoke butter knife, created for our 20th-anniversary celebrations, is now back in stock. We only have a limited number of these individually forged pieces, so please place your order as soon as possible.
We have chosen this butter knife as one of two pieces (view our teaspoon here) from the L’Enclume cutlery collection, which has been exclusively commissioned for our three-Michelin starred restaurant L'Enclume.
All pieces have been created in partnership with the talented blacksmith Alex Pole, who uses traditional techniques and forges all pieces by hand whilst sourcing all materials from the local area - sharing all the principles that remain at the core of what we do at our restaurants.
'Black' Stainless Steel
‘Black’ stainless is created when the steel is forged at over 850°C and a dark oxide forms on the hammered surface. This oxide is then lightly polished and oiled but not fully removed to give a beautiful traditional look.
Care Information
Pieces are rust-resistant and dishwasher-proof, however steel can rust if left for long periods. To maintain a good finish on your utensils wash after use and dry immediately, always store in a dry place.
