Covid-19 - Our Health & Safety Message

Dear guests,

We are delighted to announce the re-opening of our restaurants L’Enclume and Rogan & Co in Cartmel on the 4th July 2020.

Whilst we closed due to the uncertainty of coronavirus and government guidelines, I wanted to update you on the precautions we are taking to ensure that all our restaurants remain a safe space for our guests and employees to enjoy over the coming months.

We have stepped up additional precautionary measures across all our businesses, a few of them I wanted to highlight below;

• As always, all our restaurants maintain the highest possible level of hygiene and are as always, cleaned regularly and meticulously with sanitisers, now so more than ever. We have been kitted out with extra hand sanitiser so please feel free to make use of this during your time with us.

• Our team has been fully briefed with current government requirements and are undertaking extreme levels of health and safety procedures to ensure that guests and other staff members are safe.

• We have reduced the number of tables in our restaurants to maximise space around diners and have changed our standard service procedures around cutlery changes and napkin folding to reduce contact.

• Our team will be standing at a further distance from our guests and minimising close contact where possible.

• At Our Farm, we have taken necessary steps to ensure we reduce the risk of any contamination. Produce is handled by our chefs and farm staff once at the farm and once at delivery.

I am delighted and humbled to be taking over from Brian Turner as Bocuse d’Or UK President. After holding the role for nearly 30 years I would like to thank Brian for his dedication, and undoubtedly cementing the UK’s standing within the Bocuse d’Or family.

The UK Team are once again through to the world final, with Tom Phillips from Restaurant Story and commis chef Nathan Lane competing on 29-30 January 2019 in Lyon. I am very much looking forward to being there to support them. Read more

Return to London

Pierre Bruneli is Head of Wine and Beverages for L’Enclume and Cartmel operations. Born in Auxerre in Burgundy he moved to Paris unsure as to what he wanted to pursue as a career. A mistake during an interview for a barman role got him the job as a junior Sommelier and the rest is history. Read more

The modern French restaurant celebrate their 20th anniversary this year and it was a pleasure to be invited into their kitchen. It’s been a pleasure working with Claridge’s for a successful and enjoyable three years, and as the time has come to move on, we do so with excitement for the future and grateful for our time at Fera.

Winter is Served

Simon recently joined forces with Land Rover to champion winter, celebrating their #Hibernot campaign with a gastronomic take on the traditional drive-through restaurant and a series of films showcasing the diversity of winter’s pantry.

As most of the UK hibernated in the warmth of their homes, shielding themselves from the icy cold, we travelled across the Lake District and down to East Sussex, creating inspiring winter dishes for those willing to embrace the coldest months. Read more
