We are looking for an Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant to join our finance team and support the day-to-day running of the finance function across a growing business.

This role suits someone who already has some finance experience and is ready to step beyond purely transactional work, gaining exposure to month-end processes, management accounts, and how finance supports operational decision-making.

You’ll work closely with senior members of the finance team, with support and development built in.

Location: Flookburgh

Contract: Permanent, 3–5 days per week (hours and pattern to be agreed)

Interviews: Week Commencing 16th February 2026

Start Date: ASAP

Key responsibilities:

-Processing and coding purchase invoices accurately

-Preparing bank reconciliations and assisting with cashflow tracking

-Supporting supplier and internal finance queries

-Assisting with month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments (with support)

-Maintaining balance-sheet reconciliations

-Supporting monthly reporting and basic analysis

-Helping improve finance processes and controls over time

About you:

-Previous experience in an accounts or finance role

-Comfortable working with Excel, Outlook, and Teams

-Organised, detail-focused, and reliable

-Keen to understand how a business operates beyond the numbers

Desirable (not essential)

-Exposure to month-end or management accounts

-Studying towards, or keen to study towards, AAT / ACCA / CIMA

-Experience in a multi-site or fast-moving business

-Experience using Sage Intacct accounting software
