Junior Sommelier

Ion Harbour by Simon Rogan is Malta's only 2 Michelin starred restaurant located in the stunning Iniala Harbour House Hotel overlooking Valetta's Grand Harbour. Our tasting menu is inspired by local seasonal produce and is constantly evolving and available for lunch and dinner. We are open Monday to Sunday for dinner and Lunch on Fridays.

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Sommelier to join our wine team. The role will play a pivotal role in enhancing our guests’ dining experience by curating an outstanding wine selection and providing an exceptional service to our diners. Junior Sommeliers will work closely with the rest of the F&B team to ensure the seamless pairing of wine and cuisine, contributing to the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.

We are keen to hear from applicants who possess a recognized certification from a reputable wine education program, fuelled by a deep passion for wine, with a strong understanding of varietals, regions, and vintages and previous experience in a similar quality establishment.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Assist in the creation and maintenance of the restaurant’s wine list.

- Monitor and manage wine inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation.

- Greet and welcome guests with enthusiasm, offering assistance and recommendations for wine choices.

- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and maintain a wine pairing menu.

- Continuously seek to expand one’s knowledge of wines, winemaking and wine regions.

- Adhere to the highest service standards and ensure the restaurant’s reputation for excellence is upheld
